Artwork
Jill is currently doing En Plein Air oil paintings of iconic Mornington Peninsula Landscapes, due to be exhibited for sale later in 2024. She also has a brand of affordable fine art prints - colourmeadow . The prints are made from her hand drawn artwork of Mornington Peninsula landscapes and are printed on linen and wood. They combine organic textures, coastal style and mid century bold line. This work draws its inspiration from vintage poster art and Japanese line art.
Jill's previous work displays a passion for the human figure, colour, painterly movement and narrative. The paintings frame the aesthetics and ideals of family life and femininity within an atmosphere of escapism and story telling. Symbolist imagery and motifs decorate the canvas. Jill is inspired by the colours of the rainbow, the beauty or unease of a landscape or space and snapshots from nature and everyday life. She likes the idea of art embracing beauty and enjoys dressing her work with contemporary and vintage styling.
